Telstra, today announced Cloud Gateway, a solution that provides private and secure connectivity directly into multiple public cloud platforms. Cloud Gateway will initially offer customers around the world connectivity to AWS and IBM SoftLayer, while Australian customers can also connect to Microsoft Azure, Office365 and VMware vCloud Air with more in the pipeline.

According to Telstra, Cloud Gateway is an innovative one-to-many “gateway” model that connects an IP network service to the cloud with data carriage, providing cross connect in the hosting data centre as well as configuration and support. This means organizations can simply and securely access their chosen cloud platform from around the world, with increased application performance via Telstra’s IP network.
