PCCW Media claims that its OTT mobile video entertainment platform, Viu, has recorded over 1.2 million downloads in Hong Kong within a short span of six months after its launch last October.
Viu is a free app available for download at App Store for iOS devices and Google Play Store for Android devices in Hong Kong. Users can enjoy flexible, ready access to premium quality content which is streamed or pre-downloaded for viewing on their mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets. Available content includes latest popular TV dramas and variety shows from Korea, Japan, mainland China and Taiwan. In Hong Kong, Viu offers Traditional Chinese subtitling as fast as 4 hours after Korea telecast for selected latest Korean drama series.
