Telstra, last week signed a new contract with nbn to undertake the planning, designing, construction and construction management services within the existing Telstra Hybrid Fibre-Coaxial (HFC) footprint. The deal worth approximately $1.6 billion will include geographic areas within the network footprint in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Perth and Adelaide.  According to Telstra, Multi Technology Mix (MTM) network architecture will be deployed to deliver nbn™ broadband capability in the areas covered by the company and is expected to involve mainly the HFC access technology.

We have a very strong relationship with nbn and I am pleased that we have reached an agreement and can support nbn in building out the nbn™ network in the existing Telstra HFC footprint.
