Sandvine extends its existing contract with a Tier 1 North American fixed line operator by signing a follow-on order of over $5 million for its Policy Traffic Switch (PTS) and Service Delivery Engine (SDE). The leading provider of intelligent broadband network solutions for fixed and mobile operators also announced that it has secured a record of 25 new customers during its fourth quarter of 2013 from a mix of service providers -mobile, DSL, cable, fixed wireless and fibre network access infrastructures. The order is key to support the operator’s business intelligence and traffic optimization use cases and to help in understanding current and future trends in consumer experience and resource utilization in order for the operator to proactively decide where to allocate resources and incremental network investment.
“Our latest Global Internet Phenomena Report revealed that streaming audio and video now accounts for over two-thirds of fixed network traffic during peak period." said Tom Donnelly, COO, Sales and Global Services, Sandvine. “This customer has chosen to expand its deployment of Sandvine's Network Policy Control platform so that they can gain additional insight into the use of streaming applications, and measure their subscribers’ quality of experience when streaming audio and video.” “Sandvine’s customer base has grown to become well diversified, both geographically and in terms of the types of access networks we serve,” said Donnelly. “Sandvine leverages the same hardware platform and software solutions across networks so that converged, fixed-mobile operators can offer unified services and network policies for all of their subscribers.” Read More ''Sandvine Receives Over $5 Million Expansion Order From Tier 1 North American Operator'
