Vasona Networks Secures $14.6 Million VC

Mobile network optimization solution provider, Vasona Networks said that it has raised $14.6 million in its series C funding round, bringing total funds raised by the company to $48 million. The company aims to use the additional capital for deployments and also to drive ongoing research and development efforts such as extension of Vasona Networks' leadership in the emerging edge computing movement.

With mobile network operators grappling with massive demand for data services that can burden infrastructure and strain customer experiences, Vasona Networks' said that its solutions are able to deliver field results demonstrating performance benefits for video and interactive social media apps during congestion, and substantial reduction of service latency.

The company said that it is also working with customers to address emerging challenges such as rapidly rising encryption of video and data traffic, which pose management challenges that can negatively impact network efficiency.
