As part of a mobile access pilot, a group of Vodafone Italy employees are using smartphones to enter multiple sites in the Vodafone Village in Milan and perform transactions such as cashless payments at the vending machine and for clocking in and out at work. The move is aimed at modernizing Vodafone Italy's physical access control system with the introduction of convenient and easy-to-use mobile access solution across multiple sites and applications.

To implement the mobile access infrastructure, Vodafone Italy selected HID Global’s mobile access solution with iCLASS SE readers that cater for both legacy cards and Mobile IDs. The solution supports Vodafone Italy's strategy to implement a revolutionary way to use smartphones for access control, providing an enhanced user experience for employees and allowing them to complete regular transactions using just their mobile devices.

Stefano Bargellini, Safety, Security and Facilities Director with Vodafone Italy
They are finding it far more convenient when visiting different sites in the Vodafone Village and using multiple applications. It is also very simple for us to issue, manage and revoke Mobile IDs to smartphones, which saves administration time and money.

Harm Radstaak, Vice President and Managing Director of Physical Access Control with HID Global
With smartphones becoming more business-critical each day, HID Mobile Access addresses the need to leverage the power of mobile to significantly enhance and streamline the user experience.
