ZTE announced that the company has supported China Unicom, the country's second-largest wireless network operator to launch the commercial trial of VoLTE high definition voice services in the Henan province. The partnership saw ZTE enabling the first VoLTE call made on China Unicom's network.

ZTE has provided China Unicom with end-to-end VoLTE solutions including VoWiFi, VoLTE HD video and audio and Rich Communications Services (RCS), according to the company. The Henan VoLTE project is one of the seven trial sites in China and Henan is the first province to realize VoLTE commercialization, it added.

Gong Dehua, vice president of Core Network Products at ZTE
We're pleased to be the exclusive provider for China Unicom as they launch enhanced VoLTE service in Henan. This project was a testament to ZTE's industry leading expertise in VoLTE and the solutions that dramatically improve user experience.
