TELUS Deploys Ericsson's IMS for Fixed-Mobile Convergence (FMC) and LTE

TELUS, Canada has signed a contract with Ericsson for the development and deployment of an IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) to consolidate its wireless and fixed systems. The implementation of Ericsson's IMS technology will enable TELUS to offer advanced, convergent services in voice, data and video calling over both wireline and wireless networks. This will strengthen its framework for the agile delivery of core telecommunications services, further enhancing its consumer experience for its 12 million customers. With the solution, TELUS' customers will have the ability to access a variety of multimedia functions and applications including High Definition voice, management across multiple devices, and video calling over LTE.
