Nokia has certified Radisys MediaEngine, a Virtualized Media Resource Function(Virtualized MRF) as fully supported in the Nokia Telco Cloud, providing solution for fixed, mobile and cable/MSO operators requiring scalable media processing for their virtualized VoLTE, VoWiFi and vIMS deployments.

Nokia leverages Radisys’ vMRF OpenStack capabilities to elastically spin up, manage and spin down virtualized MRF instances in the cloud on its Nokia CloudBand Network Functions Virtualization Infrastructure platform, said Nokia. The ability to create MRF instances in the cloud in a standardized way provides CSPs and large enterprises an open, scalable media processing solution that helps accelerate new service introduction.

Grant Henderson, vice president, MediaEngine and Corporate Marketing, Radisys
With recent enhancements to our vMRF, we’re supporting two important industry trends – the accelerating growth of vIMS deployments, and CSPs’ needs to manage this growth in a fully elastic environment.
