C&W Networks has selected Xtera Communications to upgrade its submarine cable systems in the western Atlantic Ocean and the Caribbean Sea with 100G coherent solution. The deployment saw C&W Networks strengthening its submarine network capacity with the upgrade of several segments without repeaters, leveraging Xtera's multipurpose Nu-Wave Optima platform.

C&W Networks is part of Cable & Wireless Communications (CWC), the largest provider of telecommunications services throughout the Caribbean, Central America, Mexico and the United States with more than 48,000 miles of undersea fiber optic network.
