AIS, Thailand’s largest mobile operator has completed the commercial deployment of a Unified Subscriber Data Management system, using Universal Subscriber Profile Platform (USPP) from ZTE to migrate all of its 38 million subscribers from existing home location registers (HLRs).

ZTE said that its USPP supports 2G/3G and 4G subscriber profiles, all in a single system, including support for voice-over LTE (VoLTE) and voice-over WIFI (VoWiFi) services.

According to ZTE, the USPP solution was fully vetted in a series of strict proof-of-concept tests conducted by AIS and ZTE before the solution was launched commercially. This included testing of overload protection capabilities with up to 9 times normal traffic, simulating a 30 percent packet loss in IP network transmission, repeated plugging, unplugging and switching of single board computers and hard disks, and other extreme environmental tests and verifications.
