Globe Telecom, via its fully-owned subsidiary G-Xchange(GXI) has signed an MOU with leading regional online entertainment provider Asiasoft to provide payment facilitation for online gaming services. Asiasoft is a leading online game publisher in the Philippines and claims to have a dominating market share in the Southeast Asia region covering Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, Indonesia and Philippines. The collaboration is part of Asiasoft's partnership with the Singtel Group involving its subsidiaries Singtel, AIS and Telkomsel.

The partnership allows GCash, the mobile wallet of GXI, to be used as a payment method at PLAYPARK game portal and mobile app checkouts via Asiasoft's PlayMall thereby, giving GCash customers an option to buy "Cash items", "lives", "coins", or "gems" without the need for a credit card.

Xavier Marzan, President and CEO of GXI
GCash aims to further establish its position as the preferred payment option in the mobile and digital space. Thus, we are excited to explore marketing collaborations with Asiasoft to grow gaming-related transactions and bring GCash at the forefront of eCommerce.
