Samsung recently announced that all Samsung Smart TVs this year will be integrated with SmartThings, Samsung's Internet-of-Things(IoT) platform. Samsung also said that its Super HD(SUHD) TVs will have an IoT Hub technology to enable the device to function as a smart home core.

According to Samsung, the brand-new IoT-enabled TVs will enable customers to connect, control, and monitor more than 200 other compatible devices including lights, locks, thermostats, cameras, speakers, appliances and SmartThings sensors. By pairing SUHD TV with SmartThings, users will be able to control and manage connected devices directly from the SmartThings app within the SUHD TV as well as with a mobile app.

The SUHD TV also allows connecting with the full range of SmartThings-compatible products via a free USB adapter, the “SmartThings Extend”, which enables users to monitor and control ZigBee and Z-Wave devices via the TV.

In addition, the SmartThings SUHD application will allow users to trigger different SmartThings routines, get notifications when important events happen, helping to monitor homes with compatible cameras and to control a host of other connected devices in the home.
