Ericsson, today announced that it has successfully deployed its next-generation unified network management system, the Ericsson Network Manager (ENM) on Swisscom's 4G LTE network. The ENM provides operators with a common view of network resources and services. The Swisscom deployment marks the first time the ENM going live on an operator network.

According to Swisscom, the ENM provides support for advanced analytics, optimization and automation applications and can be deployed in the cloud with a virtual network function manager (VNFM) for the management of VNF deployments.

The ENM will be available for all Ericsson LTE customers and markets from next year, said Ericsson further.

Patrick Weibel, Senior Architect Wireless, Swisscom
We have chosen to adopt Ericsson Network Manager early to provide feedback on its functional development and also leverage the Ericsson Network Manager's capabilities that are critical to our network and operational transformation.

Jan Häglund, Head of Product Area Network Analytics & Control, Ericsson
We look forward to working closely with Swisscom while leveraging their feedback to help shape the future evolution of Ericsson Network Manager.
