Network Function Virtualization(NFV) and Software Defined Networking(SDN) vendor, Overture Networks this week announced significant enhancements to its Ensemble orchestration solution - the Ensemble 2.0, including a new pay-as-you-go software licencing model. The enhanced version, said the company will enable full realization of cloud, virtualization and software-driven services for revenue growth and cost reduction apart from extending the life of existing physical network environments during the transition to fully virtualized service delivery.

The Ensemble 2.0 introduces Overture Controller as a new component that provides SDN controller capabilities responsible for establishing and managing overlay networking configurations. Ensemble 2.0 also includes Overture Registrar, a new centralized management framework for zero-touch configuration, hardware and application registration, authentication, access control, licensing management, and VNF inventory.

The new platform also enhances its existing components such as Overture Connector, Overture Controller and Overture Dashboard.

They also want a solution that connects seamlessly with their existing network infrastructure, enabling a pragmatic transition to network virtualization and delivering the choice, performance and agility required to make these new architectures profitable.
