Canadian mobile operator, TELUS has selected Affirmed Networks to support the delivery of their Internet of Things (IoT) service offerings.

Affirmed Networks said that its Network Function Virtualization(NFV)-based Mobile Content Cloud(MCC) solution allows TELUS to economically scale its network to meet IoT workload and usage demands. The solution also enables TELUS to seamlessly adapt capacity up or down to address the changing traffic patterns that are inherent in IoT services.

The MCC combines functionalities under the Evolved Packet Core domain, including session and mobility management (GGSN, SGSN, MME, SGW, PGW), policy and charging control, content and video optimization, WiFi connectivity, and more—with advanced features such as service chaining, deep packet inspection, heuristics (for service awareness), and real-time analytics.

TELUS’ CTO Ibrahim Gedeon
IoT represents a tremendous opportunity for Canadian businesses and TELUS is committed to providing our customers with innovative solutions that enhance their productivity and profitability.

Hassan Ahmed, Chairman and CEO, Affirmed Networks
TELUS’ IoT offerings represent a powerful set of services that provide business customers with a wide range of productivity and efficiency gains.
