China Telecom has selected Alcatel-Lucent IP core and edge routing technologies to cater for the expansion of its 4G LTE network. The portfolio, which includes Alcatel-Lucent's 7950 XRS IP Core Router and 7750 Service Router is expected to help China Telecom to meet the booming customer demand from the 4G LTE services.

According to Alcatel-Lucent, the 7950 XRS, already in use in Jiangsu province and Shanghai, will manage the increasing traffic in the urban data centers of Beijing – China’s capital city and one of the world’s most populous cities - as well as the financial hub of Guangzhou. Alcatel-Lucent’s 7750 Service Router will be deployed across seven major provinces. All deployments will be completed in preparation for service in China Telecom’s network in December, said Alcatel-Lucent.

Alcatel-Lucent is focused on delivering an IP routing portfolio that will meet traffic demands into the future, while efficiently supporting the delivery of cloud-enabled mobile services.  China’s mobile market is expected to see huge growth and using our 7950 XRS and 7750 SRs we can help China Telecom manage that growth with efficiency and flexibility.
