AT&T has partnered with Boingo Wireless to boost mobile Internet coverage at Soldier Field by completing the upgrade of the Distributed Antenna System (DAS) in efforts to provide customers a better wireless experience before, during and after the game. Soldier Field is one of the most iconic venues in the United States, with over 200 events hosted annually and is selected as one of the host venues for the 2016 Copa America Centenario.
The companies co-designed a new neutral host “oDAS,” or outdoor DAS network, to provide comprehensive coverage for all aspects of the fan experience, from tailgating to pre- and post-game events and festivals in the stadium campus and parking areas. The network upgrade consists of strategically placed antennas that distribute wireless coverage throughout the Soldier Field campus. It will provide stronger, more consistent wireless coverage to customers, so that they do not have to worry about their service being impacted by the traffic coming from other people’s calls, texts and posts.
Paul La Schiazza, President, AT&T Illinois
When our customers head out to the stadium to cheer on their favorite team, we want them to have a great network experience throughout the game no matter what they’re doing – making a call, sharing pictures on social media, downloading apps or surfing the Internet.
Boingo President Nick Hulse
As one of the leading providers of connectivity at sports and entertainment venues, we understand that the game day experience starts outside the stadium, the minute fans arrive to ‘pre-game’ with their friends.
