African 4G Operator Smile Taps Squire Technologies SBC for VoLTE Rollout

Smile, a mobile network operator of 4G LTE broadband networks in the 800MHz band in Nigeria, Tanzania and Uganda, has selected Squire Technologies Session Border Controller(SBC) to support the operator's VoLTE rollout.

Squire Technologies, a UK based company specializing in signalling product solutions in the VoLTE IMS, VoIP and SS7 markets said that it SVI-SBC Session Border Controller was rapidly deployed to support LTE Pre-Conditions enabling optimal bandwidth allocation and rollout of VoLTE handsets. With high volume transcoding and support for multi-device, single number services, Smile will be able to offer offnet voice and messaging. Squire Technologies deployes media and messaging gateways to ensure a seamless interconnect between the VoLTE network and legacy 2G/3G/PSTN.
