Leading mobile operator in Azerbaijan, announced that it has completed a major network renovation and unification project to provide better coverage and higher capacity for its customers. With the upgrade, Bakcell’s network will support new and innovative services with lower costs of operation, said the operator.
The operator has partnered with Nokia Networks and Huawei Technologies for the modernization project. Over the past 24 months, the company has modernized its mobile network by increasing the number of 3G sites by 100% in various regions. This has provided a 72% growth of capacity and expanded 3G population coverage by 14% and geographical coverage by a huge 27%.
The operator claims that it has more than 5300 sites serving Bakcell customers on 2G, 3G and 4G networks.
