Allot Communications has announced a collaboration with Check Point Software to demonstrate a virtual mobile Security-as-a-Service (SECaaS) solution.  Using the SECaaS solution, Allot aims to bring cutting-edge security services to mobile networks leveraging network functions virtualization (NFV) and software-defined networking (SDN).

Both vendors showcased a proof of concept demonstration (PoC) during the recent Layer 123 SDN & OpenFlow World Congress in Düsseldorf, Germany. The joint solution that was demonstrated consists of virtual network functions (VNFs) of Allot’s Service Gateway and Check Point’s Security Gateway. Allot VNF comes with pre-integrated services and a framework connected to the cloud infrastructure, orchestration, OSS and BSS platforms, while Check Point's VNF protects dynamic virtualized environments from internal and external threats by securing virtual machines and applications with the full range of Check Point Software Blades.

Alon Kantor, VP of Business Development at Check Point
This integration enables advanced, industry-leading security to be delivered to NFV customers, so they can enjoy the same level of protection for their virtual environments as they do for their physical ones.

Jay Klein, CTO at Allot Communications
This PoC proves that Allot and Check Point can help network operators improve service delivery and consistency, cut operational costs, reduce time to market and monetize the benefits of NFV and SDN.
