Level 3 Communications, recently announced that it has developed a new broadcast video solution over the internet, 'Vyvx Internet Access' to address the continuous rise in demand for access to more content from more locations around the world. An expansion of Level 3’s Video Cloud portfolio, Vyvx Internet Access is designed to allow media companies to more easily and cost effectively distribute content on a global scale.

Level 3’s Vyvx Internet Access offers delivery of broadcast-quality video, supporting both full-time channel distribution and occasional use broadcasts to meet businesses’ video transport needs. The solution provides standard HD-SDI, SD-SDI, ASI and IP inputs and outputs, with optional MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 encoding/decoding

According to Level 3, major broadcasters, events, colleges and universities, and local broadcast stations have expressed a strong need for lower-cost connectivity to the Vyvx network for disaster recovery, sports contribution, access to remote news stations, and full-time distribution of television signals to MVPD, MSO and DTH platforms. When Vyvx Internet Access is combined with Level 3’s Secure Internet Services (SIS), customers are provided an end-to-end performance service level agreement (SLA) from a single solution provider to meet content companies growing needs for video, data and voice services, said Level 3.
