Ericsson, Thursday announced that it has been selected to work with AT&T on the evolution of AT&T's TV experience platform. This evolution will utilize leading technologies from AT&T's U-verse platform and AT&T's DIRECTV satellite platform to deliver a premium TV experience, serving customers across both satellite and wireline access networks.

AT&T already uses Ericsson Mediaroom to power its U-verse TV platform . This week at the CTIA, Ericsson announced the commercial availability of Ericsson MediaFirst, a next-generation Pay TV platform that transforms TV and video entertainment.  Built using modern cloud-based architectures, Ericsson MediaFirst brings together the best of traditional Pay TV and over-the-top services, giving operators and content providers the ability to deliver constantly optimizing, highly personalized TV experiences on any device.
