Leading digital security solutions provider Oberthur Technologies has inked a partnership with SoftBank for the development of M2M, IoT and connected devices in Japan. The partnership will leverage Oberthur Technologies' experience in privacy and security solutions and long standing relationships with both MNOs and Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM).

Oberthur Technologies and Softbank will collectively beef up the service offerings in the M2M and IoT segment for the local market, with enhancements to Oberthur Technologies' DIM®1 portfolio (SIM cards for M2M) which is adaptable to all types of connected devices used for various IoT/M2M applications. For Softbank, the partnership will pave way for the Operator to tap on OEMs to deliver solutions for verticals such as the automotive industry, industrial devices, robotics, smart metering, vending machines and gaming, said Oberthur Technologies.
