Sandvine's Nicolas St. Pierre, Associate Vice President, will be presenting 'Extending SDN for Subscriber-Based Service Chaining' on Thursday, October 17th @ 16:30 at the upcoming SDN & OpenFlow World Congress. The 2nd SDN & OpenFlow World Congress annual meet, which starts from October 15 - 18 in Bad Homburg, Frankfurt, Germany, will witness Sandvine demonstrating a completely virtualized Network Policy Control system in an OpenStack framework. Sandvine says that it is the first to demonstrate this technology and is excited to debut it at the show.
'Subscriber services are the cornerstone of a carrier's competitive advantage. By extending OpenFlow with subscriber and application awareness, an SDN architecture can effectively support complex network service chaining. Leveraging PCC constructs, policy control elements make service decisions based on subscriber state and network conditions, and can enforce necessary actions at the requisite point in the data plane. Such an architecture enables flexible, rapid service innovation'
