Vodafone Ireland will soon be offering enhanced cloud and hosting services to enterprises in Europe, following its announcement of a €7million investment in new facilitites in Ireland as part of its the expansion of its cloud and hosting business across the region. This will enable the Operator to beef up its enterprise hosting solutions to hundreds of companies it currently serves across Europe. The investment brings Vodafone Ireland's total outlay in expanding its total communication capabilities for enterprises over the last few years to almost over €25 million.

According to Vodafone, the investment will go towards complementing the existing capabilities of Vodafone Cloud & Hosting that runs on a network of 18 data centers in the UK, Germany and South Africa. This involves the roll out of a comprehensive range of cloud and hosting services to the market, from simple co-location to managed hosting, private cloud and Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS).

The data center which will commence operations from the end of October 2015 will leverage the global breadth and high levels of security of Vodafone’s global network, said the Operator, and will enable enterprise customers to enhance their IT security, increase their operational flexibility and reduce costs.

Anne Sheehan, Enterprise Director at Vodafone Ireland
We are very excited to expand our business division into cloud and hosting services for large companies and public sector clients. This further consolidates our position as Ireland’s Total Communications provider for enterprise. Our customers such as Ryanair are increasingly moving their critical IT services to the cloud, and as a result of this announcement today, Vodafone Ireland can now offer our business customers the ability to host their IT services in Vodafone’s secure data centre facilities.

Director of Vodafone Cloud & Hosting Services, Michelle Senecal de Fonseca
This is a great example of how our services are evolving, reflecting the changing needs of our customers. The opportunity offered by cloud services is transforming businesses today and we believe that Vodafone is ideally placed to help companies bring together fixed, mobile and cloud technologies to the best effect.
