Alcatel-Lucent Powers TDC Group to Offer IPTV Service Outside Denmark

Alcatel-Lucent is powering Danish communications solutions and pay TV provider, TDC, to expand its delivery of high-quality IP-based TV services outside of Denmark. This will enable the service provider to bring its existing Mediaroom platform into Norway, allowing TDC to quickly make new services available to customers of Norwegian Internet Service Provider, NextGenTel. The Mediaroom platform will also enable TDC to extend its wholesale business into other markets in the future to meet the growing demand in the Video market.

According to Alcatel-Lucent, it is the sole supplier of IPTV services for TDC and both companies have worked together for almost a decade, leveraging Alcatel-Lucent’s solutions as well as its systems integration expertise.

Jacob Zentio Larsen, TDC Vice President of TV
Video is the in-demand service for consumers and they do not want to compromise on quality. We are pleased to continue our long working relationship with Alcatel-Lucent to help us quickly expand our high-quality video service offer to customers in other markets to satisfy growing demand.

Willem Hendrickx, President of Europe, Middle East and Africa, Alcatel-Lucent
We have been working with TDC for almost 10 years to help them deliver an exceptional video experience to their customers. This agreement extends our relationship and highlights our commitment to helping customers like TDC innovate with new revenue-generating services that unleash the value within their networks.
