Accuris Networks, Wednesday introduced a new cloud-based Wi-Fi mediation, rating, billing, clearing and settlement service to enable mobile carriers to provide consistent billing when their subscribers roam or offload to Wi-Fi. The solution is made possible through a strategic alliance between Accuris and Total Software Solutions (TSS) and is offered as a managed service extension to Accuris' AccuROAM platform.

According to Accuris, the new service lets carriers maximize revenue generation and utilizes a secure, reliable international standard to capture and report Wi-Fi access usage. The solution suite is designed to ensure the success of mobile operators for Wi-Fi-to-cellular mediation, rating, billing, clearing and settlement, delivering one-stop shopping for Wi-Fi offload and roaming, thus simplifying service plans for the mobile carriers.

Shrikant Shenwai, Chief Executive Officer of the WBA
Accuris Networks' new cloud-based online settlement and charging service uses the WBA’s Wireless Roaming Intermediary (WRIX), an industry standard for bringing seamless and comprehensive revenue assurance to Wi-Fi service providers. The WRIX standard is an important part in connecting the worlds of Wi-Fi and cellular.

Jeff Brown, CEO of Accuris Networks
Wi-Fi is becoming a critical and increasingly ubiquitous element in using mobile devices. Adding seamless billing and settlement for Wi-Fi offload and roaming suppliers further strengthens the policy, charging and control features of AccuROAM and is a natural extension of this product family. We already provide detailed access, authentication and accounting for Wi-Fi network hub providers like AT&T and China Mobile International, so this new service creates an even richer, more compelling product and service portfolio.
