Taiwan's mobile operator, Far EasTone has selected Ericsson as its sole supplier for its 4G LTE network expansion program, covering 4G/LTE Radio Access Network, Evolved Packet Core, VoLTE and Wi-Fi components to provide superior network performance and user experience, and next generation  HD voice calls.

Ericsson claims that it has delivered more than 220 LTE RAN and Evolved Packet Core networks globally, of which 170 are live commercially.

  • According to Ericsson, the expanded partnership between the two companies will not only optimize customer experience but also strengthen Far EasTone's leading position in the Taiwanese market. The cooperation will lay a solid foundation for Far EasTone to further enhance customer satisfaction through delivering on the "best 4G network in Taiwan" strategy, and to address the needs from enterprise customers for industry transformation.

Providing the best LTE network in Taiwan will be an important stepping stone to execute on our long term strategy. Besides telecom services, operators need to accelerate expansion into new areas to develop IoT services where much more capable and agile networks become indispensable on the way to develop 4G and evolve to 5G.
