Fujitsu is collaborating with Microsoft to expand the Internet of Things (IoT) to more innovative applications. In its most recent initiative, Fujitsu is combining its IoT/M2M devices, platform and cloud services with Microsoft's Windows 8.1 Pro, Microsoft Azure database and devices to provide an end-to-end solution that enables companies to deploy IoT technologies and support a mobile workforce.

The partnership will see the two companies offering a solution that brings togather Fujitsu’s Eco-Management Dashboard, an IoT service for the agricultural sector, and Microsoft’s Azure database services so that data collected from sensors deployed throughout operations can be analysed to help firms save money and streamline processes. As part of this comprehensive solution, scattered data is input into the Microsoft Azure database and evaluated through advanced analytics and natural user interfaces. The Eco-Management Dashboard is used to help simultaneously manage product quality, process efficiency and equipment performance to improve operations and reduce energy costs.

According to Fujitsu, the solution can be replicated by other manufacturers and will be an enormous step in helping companies manage and consume data in the right ways, increasing productivity while saving time and money.

Hiroyuki Sakai, Corporate Executive Officer, Executive VP, Head of Global Marketing, Fujitsu Limited
Leveraging the Fujitsu Eco-Management Dashboard solution alongside Microsoft Azure and the Fujitsu IoT/M2M platform, we are able to deliver real-time visualization of the engineering process for big data analytics to improve the entire production process and inform decision-making.

Sanjay Ravi, Managing Director, Discrete Manufacturing Industry, Microsoft
