Telefónica Germany selects Coriant Smart Router Solution for the evolution of its nationwide mobile backhaul network, including the integration of the O2 and E-Plus network infrastructures. Telefónica Germany will be deploying the Coriant 8600 Smart Router Series and Coriant 8000 Intelligent Network Manager (INM) to support LTE and LTE-Advanced networks. Coriant, a global supplier of SDN-enabled end-to-end transport networking solutions, said that its LTE-optimized IP/MPLS Router Portfolio, including the 100G-capable Coriant® 8665 Smart Router, provides scalable foundation for converged network infrastructure.
According to Coriant, the SDN-ready 8600 Smart Router Series offers diverse platform options under a common management system for flexible backhaul deployment scenarios from cell sites – where the ultra-compact, IP-67 environmentally-hardened design benefits deployment – to high-capacity IP/Ethernet aggregation locations requiring 100G connectivity. The 8000 INM network manager offers Telefónica Germany full end-to-end network management support and enhanced visibility and control across the network, with automated service configuration and unique testing tools that make the service creation and validation process extremely efficient, thus minimizing operational costs.
