The mobile payments company, Fortumo has formed a partnership with India's leading premium homegrown value brand and mobile device manufacturer, Mitashi, enabling the company to facilitate payments made by its customers leveraging Fortumo's carrier billing services. The partnership will see Mitashi securing access to a wide range of games and apps from content providers who are already using Fortumo’s payment solutions.

As part of the co-operation, Mitashi's users can download and pay for content from studios such as Glu Mobile, Second Gear Games, 7k7k Games and Zeptolab. Content providers, on the other hand, benefit from a single integration to Fortumo's carrier billing platform, enabling more and more of these players to join the ecosystem that connects them to end-users in all the 88 countries where Fortumo has established carrier billing arrangements.

The carrier billing enablement provided for device manufacturers sees Fortumo managing the onboarding of developers, while at the same time creating and maintaining payment APIs and SDKs for their content  as well as handling compliance, taxation and payouts to the content providers. Other device manufacturers using Fortumo's carrier billing capabilities include device manufacturers such as  ZTE, Alcatel Onetouch and OppoGionee. Apart from device manufacturers, Fortumo also works with third-party Android app stores for example, Turkcell AppMarket, Telenor Apps & Changyou’s Mobogenie.

In emerging markets like India, credit card ownership is almost non-existent – this means most users with online access are not actually able to make payments on their phone. We’re excited to partner with Mitashi and enable their end-users to take advantage of carrier billing, the most widely available payment method today.
