Telco Systems, a leading provider of multi-service Carrier Ethernet 2.0 and MPLS edge solutions has launched its Open Edge Alliance with the aim of creating an industry-leading ecosystem of best-of-breed SDN and distributed NFV (D-NFV) solutions for the network edge. The platform enables rapid integration of products into the ecosystem thus reducing time to market, especially for startups and small innovators.

According to Telco Systems, the Alliance is building up an online store of applications, certified to run seamlessly on Telco Systems’ carrier-grade, Distributed NFV-hosting CloudMetro™ platform, already deployed in numerous service-provider networks. Telco Systems added that the Open Edge Alliance is already attracting global technology leaders, domain experts and startups who are interested in promoting the evolution to intelligent telco networks, including Check Point, AudioCodes and Netrounds.

Yehuda Herscovici, VP, Product, AudioCodes
We are excited to bring our latest cloud communications demarcation solution to the network edge as part of the Open Edge Alliance. Adhering to the NFV architecture, it facilitates faster adoption of hosted enterprise communication services, assuring high voice quality and service continuity, while enabling smooth migration away from legacy communications equipment.

Moshe Shimon, VP, Product Management & Marketing, Telco Systems
We are enthusiastic of the leading vendors who have already joined our alliance and we look forward to attracting many more participants. Service providers need to see carrier-grade VNFs coming in real numbers. With our large customer base and extensive experience in delivering intelligent network solutions all the way to the network edge, our Open Edge Alliance is bridging the gap between Distributed NFV vendors and telco customers. The many great off-the-shelf applications are speeding up the adoption process to the benefit of all.
