Diametriq's Diameter Solution Suite has been selected to power Connectem's virtual EPC that is being deployed by Telekom Austria Group to deliver a complete set of virtualized LTE network functions for its Vip mobile subsidiary in Serbia. Diametriq's Diameter Routing Engine, Diameter Edge Appliance, and Diameter Interworking System are core components of the company's VoLTE enabled, virtualized Diameter Solution Suite.
According to Diametriq, as part of Connectem's Virtual Core for Mobile (VCM) solution, the company maps the packet core functions into a computational problem, enabling network capacity (signaling, bearer or throughput) to be translated to a common computing resource requirement (CPU, memory, I/O and storage). Diametriq said that its virtualized signaling router is tightly integrated with Connectem's vEPC to seamlessly address on-demand network signaling and capacity expansions. The Diameter Application Platform is a supporting product that provides a programming interface to enable the delivery of custom signaling applications such as silent roamer detection, roamer steering, local breakout and other advanced signaling services.
While there is a lot of talking about the virtualized EPC, Connectem has achieved yet another milestone. We have been working closely with Connectem to enable them to be the first company to successfully deploy a completely virtualized EPC.
