Etisalat, the UAE’s leading telecommunications operator, signed an MoU with Intel at the MWC 2015 to collaboratively set up a cloud computing platform, leveraging Intel’s technology leadership and expertise in cloud technology. As part of this agreement, Etisalat and Intel will partner to grow a cloud catalog with an innovative set of services that targets several industry verticals. The two companies will also work on establishing a demonstration environment lab for technology innovation in cloud and Internet of Things (IoT) services.

December last year, Intel unveiled its IoT Platform, an end-to-end reference model designed to unify and simplify connectivity and security for the Internet of Things (IoT). The chip maker giant also introduced integrated hardware and software products based on the new platform and expanded its partnership ecosystem of system integrators companies which includes Accenture, Booz Allen Hamilton, Capgemini, Dell, HCL, NTT DATA, SAP, Tata Consultancy Services and Wipro, to develop and deploy solutions on the Intel IoT Platform.

Last December, Intel announced that it is powering TELUS, a Canadian operator, to launch an IoT Marketplace, an online space offering turn-key IoT solutions, in collaboration with Accenture, IBM, Cisco and other leading technology companies.
