PCC Mobile Broadband analyst spoke to Birdstep’s Director of Product Management, Lars Esshagen on the recently unveiled WiQ, the first smartphone app for android-based devices that provide users seamless access to an unlimited number of mobile data and WiFi connections. The Apps interworks with network based ANDSF to pull the necessary information that will greatly add value to the end-users. The smartapps also has the ability to ‘learn’ as it keeps the history of past connections and reproduces the information for easy access. By providing front-end data usage details and traffic and connection information, WiQ allows end-users to keep tab on their connection and usage status while the smart connection capabilities save users the time spent switching between connections.

“Smart Wifi to minimize the subscriber´ costs should be a given also for Android users. We have received a lot of positive feedback on our new WiQ app from various people in the industry as well as from friends and coworkers” said Lars Esshagen, Head of Product Management at Birdstep Technology.
