CSG Systems International has announced the Integrated Charging and Policy (ICP) 2.0, which is the newest version of the company’s integrated online charging and policy management solution. The new solution is designed to help Communications Service Providers (CSPs) optimize network traffic and empower consumers to control the access to and quality of their digital communication services.  The solution enhances the consumer experience while leading to revenue generation opportunities for the CSP. Policy management has become a vital tool for CSPs to manage and maintain control of network bandwidth.  Increasingly, CSPs are recognizing the need to add a combined charging and policy solution to increase revenue as well as offer network control,” said Sean Brown, senior vice president of product management at CSG International.  “For maximum efficiency, policy and charging must be tightly integrated to deliver a better consumer experience while also offering operational and network monetization advantages for the CSP.

“The idea of combining policy management and on-line charging functionality is not new, indeed, the potential benefits in terms of data service monetization and improved customer experience through intelligent bandwidth control have been known for a while,” says Peter Dykes, Senior Analyst at Informa Telecoms & Media.”
