Sequans LTE Chipset Powers Airtel's LTE CPEs in India

Sequans Communications has announced that its LTE chipset technology is powering the single mode LTE CPEs being deployed by Bharti Airtel for its subscribers in India. The LTE technology inside the new CPEs is Sequans Mont Blanc LTE chipset platform that complies with 3GPP Release 9 specifications and provides category 4 throughput with data rates up to 150 Mbps in the downlink. It features integrated high-gain antennas with MIMO technology, combining powerful RF circuit design, highly integrated software, network router and smart industrial design.

According to Sequans, the new CPEs, manufactured by one of the largest ODMs in Taiwan, are designed to meet all the stringent requirements of SME customers while catering for residential customers. Bharti Airtel is one of India’s largest mobile operators with more than 100 million subscribers.

Georges Karam, CEO, Sequans
We are pleased to contribute our technology for this next phase of Bharti Airtel’s LTE service launch with these high performing CPEs. We have been working with mobile operators in India since the advent of LTE and now that LTE deployment is beginning to accelerate, we are excited to see Bharti Airtel taking advantage of the benefits enabled by LTE in providing advanced new services to their customers.
