Proximus, which was previously known as Belgacom Mobile, the largest of Belgium's three mobile telecommunications companies, has entered into a partnership with Huawei for strategic cooperation in the areas of mobile experience and digital services development over agile platforms. Both the companies will have their expert teams working together on continuously improving subscriber user experience.

As 80% of mobile traffic is generated indoors, stricter building and isolation guidelines mean that deep indoor coverage and capacity are becoming more challenging. Proximus and Huawei will collaborate to turn this challenge into an opportunity through innovative solutions, leveraging small cell technologies for a seamless indoor-to-outdoor experience.

Dominique Leroy, CEO of Proximus
We are delighted to have signed this strategic partnership with Huawei focused on innovation. This agreement will ensure the continued development of our network in order to offer the best user experience to our customers.

Eric Xu, Rotating CEO, Huawei
We are very pleased to sign this partnership with Proximus. Huawei always pays great attention to the needs of our customers and their end users. Through customer-centric innovation, we are dedicated to building ubiquitous broadband networks and excellent user experiences for our operator customers, to reinforce our position as the best business partner. The strategic partnership between Proximus and Huawei creates a flexible framework that will enable the partners to improve their ability to respond to rapidly changing needs by stepping up their joint innovative capabilities.
