Verizon Wireless partners with Kodiak Networks, a global industry leader in push-to-talk platforms to debut Push to Talk (PTT) Plus service to its customers, with enhancements such as improved voice quality and faster call set up time on Verizon’s 4G LTE network. It is the upgraded version of the earlier generation of Push to Talk. Verizon's Push to Talk Plus is available on selected smartphones including DROID MAXX, Samsung Galaxy S5, Casio G’zOne and Commando 4G LTE. The largest mobile operator in US said that it will expand to additional devices in coming months, such as the ruggedized Kyocera Brigadier.

According to Verizon, the enhanced PTT plus allows users to join a group call anytime during the call via its 'Late Join' feature, while the 'Rejoin' feature lets people drop and rejoin ongoing group calls, an option that comes in handy for those busy workers who may need to quickly speak to a client during a group call.
