Internet Initiative Japan (IIJ) and Atmark Techno, last month announced that they have combined the Atmark Techno's Armadillo-IoT, an Linux-based IoT gateway, with IIJ's Libarms open source library to create a framework that uses IIJ's Service Adaptor Control Manager (SACM) management system platform to unify M2M end devices.
Libarms, an embedded software module that is freely distributed as an open source library was developed for installation of SACM management functions in devices. According to both firms, using SACM, customers can centrally manage devices using a dedicated Web interface, including remote monitoring and administration of Armadillo-IoT, enabling them to collect information on devices such as connecting sensors or controllers as well as manage and analyze these devices without having to develop their own management systems.
Both firms said that solution also allows users to add functionality using add-on modules, and is compatible with the latest low-energy wireless standards, such as Wi-SUN, EnOcean, and Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE).
