SmartHome Ventures has announced a partnership with Zubie to expand its ecosystem of devices and applications to the connected car. Smarthome Ventures' PEQ, the home automation service that allows consumers to manage their home from anywhere, will be integrated with Zubie connected vehicle service, enabling PEQ users to monitor their home as well as their car's location, health and safety information from anywhere on the PEQ mobile app.

Using its smarthome app, PEQ consumers can create rules that personalize their service, making it simple to tell devices when to turn on or off, how to interact with each other, and when and how to contact the family via e-mail or text message. The company also lined up a set of new features on the app this year, including the ability to create rules that trigger actions through their PEQ system when Zubie signals their vehicle is approaching home. The solution can be used for various applications, for example, when a car pulling into the driveway will be able to open the garage door, unlock doors to the house and turn lights on. Alternatively, in the morning when a user leaves home in their car, the front door will lock and PEQ's smart thermostat will turn down the temperature.

Tim Kelly, CEO of Zubie
Our partnership with PEQ comes at time where consumers are looking to incorporate more and more smart services that add value to their lives. The connected-car and connected-home markets are both at exciting stages. Integration with PEQ brings these two together and allows us to move beyond the connected car and connected home and into the connected life.

Ted Schremp, CEO of SmartHome Ventures
With PEQ, we're focused on helping the everyday consumer connect more intelligently and intuitively with their home. And with more consumers now demanding connectivity features in their next vehicle, it's only natural to connect the home and the car*. We're really excited about our partnership with Zubie and the experiences we'll be able to provide PEQ users by giving them a seamless experience across all their connected devices.
