Quickplay, the global expert in powering premium video to any device, Monday announced support for Android TV, in a showcase of Quickplay’s Next Generation Experience Solution. The solution provides extensive third-party developer tools as well as an Android TV reference user experience for Live and Video-on-Demand services, supporting Android set-top boxes as well as companion devices. Quickplay has built a set of intuitive tools for developers such as SDK, Developer Sandbox, RESTful APIs and is supported by its Partner Support Program to allow any application or front-end solution to be readily integrated with Quickplay’s Managed Video Service. Quickplay said that its developer tools are a direct response to the dynamic nature of the market and to providers’ need to continually innovate to create engaging, social and immersive multiscreen experiences across Set-Top Boxes, HDMI Dongles, Tablets, Game Consoles, PCs, and Smartphones.

In line with that, three 3rd party developer companies- Comigo, Intellicore and Oregan Networks - have announced integration to the Quickplay Managed Video Service enabling social, immersive and engaging experiences. Quickplay claims to have enabled multiscreen premium video experiences to an addressable audience of over 500 million users worldwide.
