Kabel Deutschland (KD), a Vodafone ompany and Germany's largest cable operator has partnered with Cisco to create an integrated home hub for video service that converges TV content, including broadcast, on-demand, catch-up, and time-shift TV with Internet video of all types, to create a comprehensive video-hub for the home. The new video service that is being planned to be rolled out in 2016/2017 will converge search, recommendation and viewing in a personalised, multi-screen, cloud-powered platformThe next generation video service presents content choices personalized to the needs of each viewer and is drawn both from TV and the Internet.

The service, according to Cisco, enables Kabel Deutschland to easilty and quickly update features and offer new services - enabled by the cloud infrastructure. KD todate offers its customers high definition (HD), digital (SD) and analog TV, Pay TV and DVR offerings as well as Video on Demand, broadband Internet (up to 100 Mbit/s), WiFi and fixed-line Phone services via cable.
