Diametriq, a leader in addressing LTE signaling network issues, announced today that Globecomm is using Diametriq’s Diameter Edge Appliance™ (DEA) to enable the connection of its hosted 4G/LTE network customers to other 4G/LTE networks. Diametriq’s Diametriq Edge Appliance™ is a cost-effective network element that enables LTE network operators to concentrate their roaming signaling traffic on an edge device without requiring a fully functional and expensive Diameter Signaling Controller. In addition to simplifying the number of signaling channel connections, the Diameter Edge Appliance™ provides security and topology hiding while its other feature, the Diameter Roaming Visibility™ offers operators a view of their roaming subscribers and their behavior. For more information ont Diametriq's solution, read the recently published White Paper on Diameter Signaling Routing

Subscribers of wireless network operators using the Globecomm hosted LTE core can roam onto the 4G/LTE networks of other participating operators. Rather than having the 4G connection automatically reverting to 3G when the user roams outside his/her network, it will stay on 4G, thus ensuring seamlessness and a better experience. Globecomm’s LTE hosting service also provides a reliable, professionally managed LTE core, which greatly reduces both capital savings and operations savings while not requiring the carrier to hire trained core network operators.

Andy Silberstein, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Globecomm Network Services, said: “While LTE networks and the LTE devices using them have proliferated in the last couple of years, if a subscriber with an LTE smartphone or tablet roams outside of their home network, the connection typically defaults to 3G or older technology.  With this service LTE subscribers can roam and get full LTE connectivity.”

“Globecomm is now making LTE roaming available to their customers through Diameter routing to other LTE networks,” said Anjan Ghosal Diametriq’s president and CEO. “We are pleased to be able to have them use our product to enable this service for their customers and their customers’ subscribers.”
