Active Broadband Networks, an innovative supplier of software-defined networking (SDN) solutions for broadband service providers, Wednesday announced that it has joined the Intel® Network Builders program. This program brings together leading ecosystem vendors to showcase solutions that make it easier for operators to deploy software-defined networking (SDN) and network function virtualization (NFV) solutions.

Active Broadband recently introduced the industry's first Software-Defined Broadband Network Gateway (SD-BNG), a platform that leverages SDN and NFV technologies with the aim to reduce the cost and complexity of broadband service delivery. Active Broadband Networks said that the SD-BNG provides simplified orchestration, proactive Quality-of-Experience (QoE) management and simple virtual network functions (VNF) deployment, allowing operators to significantly increase operational efficiencies, slash capital outlays, and rapidly create, deploy and modify new services that increase market penetration and improve customer satisfaction.

Adam Dunstan, CEO of Active Broadband Networks
Intel's technology has enabled Active Broadband to reimagine, develop and deliver a completely new Service Provider Edge platform delivering on the promise of SDN and NFV. We are excited to join Intel's program and grateful for Intel's support of the SDN and NFV ecosystem.

Renu Navale, manager of the Intel Network Builders program
The Intel Network Builders program is designed to accelerate the adoption of SDN and NFV. By working together with forward-thinking companies like Active Broadband, we are helping to make new solutions available to customers, while driving innovation into service provider networks and applications.
