D2 Technologies, the market leader in embedded IP communications software platforms, in partnership with Alcatel-Lucent has announced a successful completion of interoperability testing of key elements of the VoLTE and RCS IMS profiles with both the native and downloadable versions of D2's mCUE® 4G client software.

According to D2, the pre-Integrated end-to-end IMS solution will enable mobile operators to commercialize the solution quickly. D2 said that its mCUE 4G software client, paired with Alcatel-Lucent's IMS infrastructure, gives service providers optimized and interoperable VoLTE and RCS functionality to more quickly and efficiently commercialize advanced IMS capabilities on 4G LTE networks.

D2 Technologies added that it has demonstrated the proof of concept and shown how IP-based communications such as RCS, VoLTE (IR.92), VoWiFi, and IR.94 video calling can be seamlessly combined with traditional GSM CS and SMS communications to deliver on the GSMA's so-called "Green Button Promise."

Doug Makishima, COO for D2 Technologies
By emphasizing native support for RCS and VoLTE, we can ensure that mobile phone users are able to take full advantage of an optimized and richer communications experience that's built into the phone. Alcatel-Lucent is poised to push the needle forward for VoLTE and RCS adoption worldwide. By working to ensure that mCUE 4G is compatible with Alcatel-Lucent's technologies, D2 continues to be positioned at the leading edge of global IMS commercialization.

Fran Heeran, General Manager of the IMS business at Alcatel-Lucent
We are excited to be working with D2 Technologies to extend the HD voice and video benefits of VoLTE and next generation IP based communication experiences provided by RCS to more mobile devices and users. It's helping to extend rapid innovation in communications across voice, video, messaging and content sharing that will drive a whole new generation of personalized, ultra broadband services.
