Telenor Group, one of the world’s major providers of mobile communications, has signed Huawei to supply radio access equipment and professional services to modernize existing 2G and 3G networks. The agreement also extends to Telenor’s subsidiaries leading 2G, 3G and 4G technologies through Huawei’s solutions and professional services. Both companies have partnered in Radio Access Network technology since 2008. Huawei claims that its SingleRAN solutions are the first to support 2G/3G/4G on same boards, providing a smooth evolution and easy maintenance that greatly simplifies mobile networks.
