Networking giant, Cisco and IBM team up to speed data center transformation with a new infrastructure solution, VersaStack, an integrated solution that combines Cisco Unified Computing System (UCS) with IBM Storwize storage system to drive big data and mobility solutions to their customers. The solution caters for enterprises demand for integrated data center systems, bundling compute, storage, networking, management software and virtualization into a single package to deliver high levels of ease, efficiency and versatility for cloud, big data and analytics, and mobility deployments. The solution will be delivered via qualified Business Partners globally.
According to the two long time alliance, the platform will be optimized for IBM business applications and will be integrated with Cisco innovations such as Cisco® Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI) and Cisco Intercloud Fabric. Both the firms added that CIOs looking for solutions that offer fast deployment and management options are increasingly turning toward integrated systems in which the full stack of data center technologies is combined into a pre-tested and supported system that is designed to operate and be managed as a whole.
