Telecom Italia has selected Italtel, a leading company in Next Generation Networks, Value Added Services and global IP-IP communication, to provide technical assistance on its fixed domestic and mobile networks. The project requires Italtel to provide a single point of contact on 24 hours a day and seven days a week to fix any problem which occurs on the network. Italtel will work with technology partners to support problem resolution within various domains e.g. fixed network, mobile access or transport and fix the issues within the terms of the contract (SLA).

Italtel was chosen due to its specialist knowledge and experience, enabling the repair and refit of the many different technologies installed.
In addition, an information and management service for repairs has been established to handle logistics process that speeds up the removal of equipment, shipping it to the appropriate repair company and redelivery. According to Italtel, the company provides a full suite of professional services for telephone operators and can tailor solutions to meet individual business requirements in areas including Core Mobile, Mobile Intelligent Network, Mobile Access (GSM, UMTS, LTE), Switching, Smart Fixed Network, Optical Transport (DWDM) and traditional (SDH) and Fixed Broadband and Ultra Broadband Access.
